Cathedral City Senior Center

The mission of the Cathedral City Senior Center to improve the quality of life for those 55+ living in Cathedral City and surrounding communities through activities and services including social, recreational, educational and health-related programs.

Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine

Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine (CVVIM)  believes everyone has the right to healthcare. Services provided include primary medical, dental, and more at no cost to adults in the Coachella Valley who are uninsured or under-insured.

FIND Food Bank

FIND Food Bank – the Desert’s Regional Food Bank – is the area’s hub for information and action related to hunger and food insecurity, and is dedicated to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger, and the problems associated with hunger through awareness, education, and mobilization of resources and community involvement.

HARC

HARC (Health Assessment and Research for Communities) specializes in obtaining data that helps improve the social determinants of health that are the conditions where people live, learn, work, and play, by providing data to support these healthy communities in all aspects of health and wellness.

Mizell Center

Beyond their walls in Palm Springs where they provide great services, Mizell delivers 450+ meals each weekday to homebound seniors and nine congregant sites, such as other senior centers, from Whitewater to the Salton Sea.

Palm Springs Animal Shelter

Committed to being a humane and compassionate animal care and adoption center, Palm Springs Animal Shelter is the only, local municipal animal shelter that practices the no-kill philosophy.

Sanctuary Palm Springs

Sanctuary Palm Springs provides safe, comfortable, supervised housing for self-identified LGBTQ+ youth, ages 18-21, while developing the life skills, resiliency, and healthy social and community connections necessary to transition from foster care to a happy, healthy, and productive adulthood.

Senior Advocates of the Desert

Senior Advocates of the Desert is the Coachella Valley’s only nonprofit social service organization dedicated exclusively to helping low-income seniors get the government benefits to which they are entitled, but have been unable to access on their own.

Shelter From the Storm

Shelter From the Storm is the Coachella Valley’s only shelter-based provider of emergency and related services to victims of domestic violence, offering comprehensive programs dedicated to abused women and children.

Yucca Valley Senior Center

A vibrant and welcoming place for town residents, the Yucca Valley Senior Center offers a nutritious hot meal, shopping in the all-volunteer thrift store that benefits the center, and many activities for the senior community.

Voting Rules

Each person may only vote one time.  Your vote – ranking the selected organizations from 1-10 – will help determine the amounts each organization will receive from the $40,000 total that DOHC will donate in celebration of our 40th anniversary.

Voting Tabulation

Your vote is secure and confidential and is being collected and analyzed by a third party. The results will be reported to DOHC at the close of the voting period.
