(December 12, 2023 – Palm Springs, CA)
In addition to ranking #11 on the Fortune Best Workplaces in Health Care 2023 list, Desert Oasis Healthcare (DOHC) now also joins the Fortune Best Workplaces for Women 2023 list for the first time, in position #94 for Large Companies. Overall, 88% of employees at DOHC say it is a great place to work, compared to 57% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company.

“Every great company that is a ‘best workplace’ has a foundation of great employees. That’s why, as an HR professional, I’m pleased to know that our company has repeatedly been named to lists like these that recognize the excellence of our employees,” said Martha Trujillo, VP of Human Resources at DOHC. “Having personally advanced through the ranks of a company where more than 75% of our workforce is female, I also have a personal sense of pride in what we offer to women, as well as to men, at DOHC and at our sister company Family Hospice Care.”

In addition, DOHC is a Great Place to Work for the sixth consecutive year.

Desert Oasis Healthcare is also an active supporter of Women Leaders Forum. Two DOHC female physicians recently participated in their “Empowering Your Health” panel discussion.

“As a healthcare company that has always had plenty of women leaders, we appreciated how Women Leaders Forum is not only benefiting current leaders but also helping to train future leaders,” said Marc Hoffing, MD, MPH and Medical Director of DOHC. “That’s why we were pleased to award a $2,500 scholarship to Daniella Agras, who recently graduated La Quinta High after going through the Young Women Leaders program. We were pleased to give Daniella a tour of our Palm Springs facilities because she’s interested in becoming a Physician Assistant as she first heads off to UC-Riverside for an undergraduate degree in Cellular, Molecular and Developmental Biology.”

About Fortune Best Workplaces for Women 2023

Great Place to Work® has been surveying employees around the world about their workplace experiences for 30 years and has developed a set of themes and metrics that not only reveal whether employees feel their workplace is great, but also predict retention, agility, and overall business success. The survey enables employees to share confidential quantitative and qualitative feedback about their organization’s culture. List rankings are based on this employee feedback, which we analyze to determine the extent to which the full workforce shares this experience. To determine the Best Workplaces for Women, Great Place To Work measures self-identified women’s survey responses, compares them to those of their peers, and analyzes the extent to which women’s demographic background or position within the organization change that experience. In the last year, Great Place To Work surveyed companies employing 7.5 million people in the U.S. and received 1.3 million survey results. Of those, over 600,000 responses were received from female employees at companies who were eligible for the 2023 Fortune Best Workplaces for Women and this list is based on their feedback.
