DOHC Recognized as 4.5 Star Provider Organization by IHA | DOHC

Achieving Top 25% status for Medicare Advantage reported clinical measures
Desert Oasis Healthcare recognized as 4.5 Star provider organization

(March 13, 2023 – Palm Springs, CA)
The Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) recently announced that Desert Oasis Healthcare (DOHC) is recognized as a 4.5 Star (of 5 Stars) provider organization in their Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) Medicare Advantage program for measurement year (MY) 2021. Only 43 of 174 (25%) of participating provider organizations achieved this performance level in MY 2021.

The AMP Medicare Advantage program from IHA uses standard, publicly reported measures of healthcare, as prioritized by Medicare, to provide performance data. “These measures provide a means to compare the success of how each organization completes preventive health screenings, such as mammograms and colorectal cancer screenings, so that cancer is detected early when it is most successfully treated,” said Dr. Teresa Hodgkins, VP of Clinical Quality Initiatives at DOHC. “These measures also report how well patients are treated for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and COPD.”

In addition, Star measures provide assessments for how effectively an organization continues to coordinate care for their patients, following a hospital discharge or after pursuing treatment at an emergency room. “Each and every one of our 30,000 Senior patients/members, served under a variety of Medicare Advantage health plans, are important to us,” said Dr. Marc Hoffing, Medical Director at DOHC. “Our patient care teams work hard every day to provide the best for our members, so this recognition is particularly gratifying.”
