Changes to Part D Coverage Coming in 2025

Medicare Open Enrollment
The annual Medicare open enrollment period runs from October 15th to December 7th, for coverage beginning the following January. During the annual enrollment period (AEP) you can make changes to your health coverage.
- You can switch from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage, or vice versa
- You can switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another
- You can review the benefits for Medicare Advantage plans for the following year
Do I have to make any changes?
If you are already enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan contracted through Desert Oasis Healthcare, and you don’t want to make any changes to your coverage, you don’t need to do anything during open enrollment. Keep in mind, most plans make changes for the following year, so it’s always a good idea to review your annual notice of benefits change (ANOC) that your insurance carrier sends to you around October or November.
Where can I find out more information?
During the annual enrollment period, Desert Oasis Healthcare holds meetings both online and in-person throughout the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin. These meetings give attendees an overview of Medicare Advantage benefits offered by the various health plans in your county for the following year. These meetings generally take an hour or so, depending on questions.

Who is eligible to join Medicare Advantage plans?
If you live in the designated service area of the specific plan, and already have Part A and Part B, you may join a Medicare Advantage plan. If you have union or employer-sponsored insurance, you may also be able to join an Advantage plan. You should know that if you enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you will not need to purchase a Medigap or a supplemental coverage plans.
